CM Sarma visits Dhubri Gurdwara

Guwahati: Assam government announces rupees five crore for the development of Dhubri Gurdwara on the occasion of Guru Tegh Bahadur Saheb’s Martyrdom Day on Monday. State chief minister
Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Gurdwara on the bank of mighty river Brahmaputra
and prayed for all sections of the people in Assam.

“I am feeling really blessed to have visited Gurdwara Dhubri Saheb on the occasion of Tegh Bahadur Saheb’s Martyrdom Day today. It is an auspicious day for the Sikhs as well as other Indians. Tegh Bahadur sincerely desired that everyone should be at peace while following one’s religion while desisting oneself from forceful religious conversion,” said sarma.

He also added that the sacrifice of Tegh Bahadur empowers and emboldens others to raise one’s voice against injustice. Gurdwara Dhubri Saheb is a sacred place where Guru Nanak is believed to have met Srimanta Sankardev, said Sarma urging upon the devotees to work and sustain sanctity of the Gurdwara to promote it as one of the sacred spiritual places in the world.
