Siddharth Murder Case – CM to blame for delay in CBI enquiry; Suspended officials are scapegoats

Kerala.

The time sheet in connection with Siddharth murder case speaks out that there was delay in handing over the case to CBI; and, it proves that delaying tactics have played a role in it and CM is to blame for it. Even though the order for CBI enquiry had been issued on March 9, when Siddharth’s father Jayaparakash met CM Pinarayi Vijayan at his offices, it appears that no follow up actions were taken thereafter. And, three officials are suspended as ‘scapegoats’. The significant fact remains, CM Pinarayi Vijayan is the Home Minister as well.

Death of J.S. Siddharth, second year student of (Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University {KVASU}), Pookkode, Wayanad, had been interpreted as suicide and it would have been established so if JanamTV had not brought it to its viewers as a murder. The details of modus operandi of the VC, Dean, Warden, officer bearers of students union controlled by SFI, etc. etc. had been carried, in detail during the last couple of weeks. The ‘responsible’ people were working overtime to establish the death as a suicide.

It is revealed that the ‘Proforma Report’ including documents for handing over to CBI were not prepared immediately and it was sent to CBI’s Kochi office. FIR was not translated into English. The CM reportedly informed Jayaprakash that the entire requirements had been completed.

The argument that some officials are to blame does not carry any credibility. It is impossible to believe that the officials took their own decisions, especially, in a department which is under the direct control of CM Pinarayi Vijayan. The Home Ministry is under the strict control of CM’s own men. Even a breeze would not blow there, sans the knowledge of them and the CM.

CM knows well that Siddharth’s death will be a grave setback in the imminent parliamentary elections hence the notification was issued for CBI enquiry; but, it was a mere eyewash. The idea was to make the issue a closed chapter and if no further action is taken, the issue would die its own natural death. Moreover, it could be delayed to the maximum possible extent so that evidence would be destroyed and people would forget the episode after some time. That is why, matter was pushed into stationary mode.

But, fortunately, Jayaprakash told union ministers V. Muraleedharan and Rajeev Chandrasekhar in detail including the anxieties which disturbed him.

Immediately they intervened. Then a DySP (of Police) was dispatched to Delhi to hand over the documents to CBI, Delhi.

Observers believe that faster the CBI starts its enquiry the better. Otherwise, evidences will be lost. Recently Kerala was shocked to hear that the entire documents, pertaining to the murder of SFI leader Abhimanyu, found missing from the court. Abhimanyu was killed on July 2, 2018 at Govt Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam. All knowledgeable people believe that he was murdered by PFI killers. But, CPM and SFI leaders did not dare to blame PFI or SDPI. On the other hand, they pasted posters throughout the state with a slogan ‘Hell with the communalism’. During the consequent corner meetings, the speakers did not dare to blame PFI. They slowly forgot Abhimanyu murder and confined to propaganda against communalism and they made it chance to blame RSS (for nothing) even though there was no relevance at that point of time. Now, Abhimanyu murder is the worry and grief of his family members alone. And, SFI pastes the posters with his picture in every walls in the state in connection with his Martyr day.
