Guwahati: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on 14 September attended Shri Shri Rudra Mahayagya and Kameshwari Maha Aradhana at Khanapara playground in the city and prayed for the welfare of State’s populace. Mahayagya was organised as a part solemn prayer meeting for world peace and performed in presence of Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajananda.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Acharya said that this Mahayagya is performed for Loka Kalyan and peace of all mankind. It is even heartening that such a grand vedic ritual is being performed in a selfless manner in divine presence of Swami Adhokshajananda, which creates a positive energy in its entirety.

While paying his reverence and remembrance of great Vaisnavite scholar Srimanta Sankardeva, the Governor hailed the profound impact of the Gurujona in the rich spiritual heritage of Assam.
The influence of Gurujona is deeply ingrained in the socio-cultural and spiritual fabric of the State. Sankardev’s ideals have always aimed at fostering peace and spreading positivity among the people of Assam, added the Governor.
