Guwahati: State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA) Assam has extended a financial aid of rupees fifteen lakh as the revolving fund to Barpeta Aatasbazee/firework industry with an aim to strengthen the cottage industry. SITA vice-chairman Ramen Deka handed over the demand draft to the concerned officials of Barpeta Aatasbazee Shilpi Samabay Samittee limited at a function held in Barpeta on Saturday.
In presence of Barpeta district magistrate TP Bhusal , AFC vice-chairman Anil Das and other dignitaries, Deka stated that after taking the problems faced by the Aatasbazee artisans and discussing the matter with all stakeholders, SITA decided to support the firework industry for its development and future prospects.
Months back, a team of SITA officials visited Barpeta in western Assam to take the status of Aatasbazee/firework industry . SITA has however made a condition that the firework items produced by the local artisans should not emit sound more than the prescribed high decimal limit for green crackers and maintain the standard of pollution free firework products.
