Death toll mounting in Delhi

Death could not be prevented in capital Delhi. On wednesday morning, six more deaths were reported. In the last four days, the death toll went upto to 25 in the capital. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval visited the disturbed areas at midnight on tuesday to assess the situation. As of tuesday night, the death toll in Delhi was 5. On wednesday morning, four more people were taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital with serious injuries, doctors declared them dead. Another died while undergoing treatment at the hospital, said hospital MD Sunil Kumar Gautam. Two more died in the afternoon.
Along with death toll, violence continues in Delhi. At around 5:30 pm, stone pelting by protesters started in the Brahmapuri-Mustafabad area of northeast Delhi. An antique shop was also set on fire at Gokulpuri. A fire tender arrived on the scene to control the situation. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has been entrusted with the responsibility of controlling Delhi violence. He will inform the Prime Minister and the Cabinet about the situation in Delhi. Doval visited Zaffarabad, Seelampur and other areas of north-east Delhi last night. There he also interacted with leaders of various communities. Doval has made it clear that there will be no lack of security forces to control law and order in the capital. Adequate number of police and paramilitary forces have been deployed. The police have been given a free hand to control the situation. On tuesday, violence erupted in some areas of north-east Delhi over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), where miscreants pelted stones, ransacked and set fire to many shops. In some areas, the situation became uncontrollable, after which the police ordered to shoot the miscreants.The violence has killed 17 people, including a head constable, while injuring 186. The National Security Advisor (NSS) reached Seelampur DCP office late at night to take stock of the situation. NSA Doval reached DCP office of North-East Delhi at Seelampur at around 11:30 pm on tuesday night. He had a meeting with police officers there. In the meeting, he reviewed the security situation. Doval sought information from the police about the current situation in the area. Doval held a meeting with officials for about an hour. Several officials, including Special Commissioner Satish Golcha, attended the meeting.
