New Delhi. Former Chairman of ISRO G. Madhavan Nair, said that the scientists at ISRO are working with dedication to the country. He said that the cost of India’s Chandrayaan-3 is far less when compared with other countries’ Moon missions. Even though Chandrayaan-3 took forty days to reach Moon and other countries’ space vehicles takes four to five days, the cost for India’s mission is less by hundreds of crores of rupees.
The former ISRO Chairman said that the salary of the scientists at ISRO is only one-by-fifth of what is offered in developed countries. Even though the salaries of ISRO scientists are very low when compared to scientists and technical experts of other nations, Indian scientists do not work for money.
He said that no ISRO scientist is a millionaire. They all lead a simple life. The reality is that they do not even care about money. They have commitment and passion to their mission. This is how we have reached high levels.
The ISRO former Chairman continued that with we learn something with every step. What we learn from previous missions, we apply to the next mission.
He also revealed that India is using locally developed technology and this has helped us lower expenses considerably.
