Pre-historic Dhalpur Shiva Mandir of Sipajhar inaugurated

Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday inaugurated the permanent

building of a pre-historic Shiva Mandir at Dhalpur area of Sipajhar revenue circle in Darrang district. He also inaugurated the guest house and Pujari-Griha along with the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. During his first visit to Dhalpur after becoming CM, Sarma assured that he would help in creating a permanent structure of the temple and fulfilling his promise he dedicated it to the devotees.

“I really feel blessed to have got the opportunity to inaugurate the pre-historic Shiva Mandir at Dhalpur along with a guest house and Pujari-Griha,” said Sarma after offering Puja to Maheswar and prayed for the well-being of all sections of people in the State.

He also added that for the convenience of devotees a quality road connecting the temple along with three bridges will be built in the locality. Since the area is flood prone, an embankment will be also built to save Dhalpur from recurring floods. Sarma also planted saplings at the temple premises and called upon all to contribute towards building a sustainable future.

On a different issue, Sarma termed Garukhuti project in central Assam as associated with the pride of local people. The government will do everything possible for the initiative, he asserted. KAAC chief Tuliram Ronghang, Sipajhar legislator Paramananda Rajbongshi, office bearers of the temple management committee with a host of devotees were present on the occasion.
