Realising ABPS Vision

The recently concluded Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) Baithak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at Karnavati of Gujarat on 11-13 March 2022 highlighted the urgent need to promote work-opportunities to make Bharat a self-reliant nation. No need to remind that with its abundant natural resources, vast human power and inherent entrepreneurial skills to transform the local agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors, Bharat (India) has the potential to create ample work opportunities and take the entire economy to greater heights. As the billion plus nation experiences the severe impact of Covid-19 pandemic on employment and livelihood, the country has also witnessed opening up of new opportunities.
ABPS, the highest decision-making body of RSS, is of the opinion that thrust is to be given to Bharatiya economic model that is human centric, labour intensive, eco-friendly and laying stress on decentralization and equitable distribution of benefits augmenting rural economy, micro-small scale and agro based industries. The areas like rural employability, unorganized sector employment, employment to women and their overall participation in the economy need to be boosted.
One can witness many successful models of employment generation in various parts of the country. They have also taken into account local specialities, talent and requirements. The entrepreneurs, businessmen, micro finance institutions, self-help groups and voluntary organizations have initiated endeavours in the areas of value added products, cooperative sector, direct marketing of local products and skill development etc. These initiatives have encouraged ventures like handicrafts, food-processing, homemade products and family enterprises. After sharing their experience with others, replicating them at places wherever required should be earnestly considered. Certain educational and industrial institutions have contributed in employment generation efforts in a significant way. Efforts to inculcate the spirit of Swadeshi and self-reliance in the society would give the right impetus to all these initiatives.
The manufacturing sector that has high employment potential naturally requires to be bolstered which can also lessen our dependence on imports. An environment conducive to encouraging entrepreneurship should be created by educating and counselling people, especially youth, so that they can come out of the mentality of seeking jobs only. Similar entrepreneurial spirit also needs to be fostered among women, village folk and people from remote and tribal areas. Educationists, industry & community leaders, social organizations and other institutions may have effective participation in it.
ABPS rightly called upon the citizens to work on Bharat centric models of employment generation to strengthen the economy and achieve sustainable and holistic development. It also urged all sections in the society to establish a healthy work culture based on eternal values catalysing the whole effort of promoting various types of work opportunities so that Bharat regains its rightful place on the world economic front.
One should also introspect why the RSS annual report, which was released at the ABPS meeting in presence of Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, observed that there is growing religious fanaticism in the country. The formidable form of growing religious fanaticism in Bharat has raised its head again in many places. The brutal murders of activists of Hindu organizations in Kerala, Karnataka are an example of this menace. Series of dastardly acts revealing communal hysteria, rallies, demonstrations, violation of social discipline, custom and conventions under the guise of the Constitution and religious freedom, inciting violence by instigating meagre causes, promoting illegal activities, etc. is increasing. There appear to be elaborate plans by a particular community to enter the government machinery. Behind all this, it seems that a deep conspiracy with a long-term goal is working. On the strength of numbers, preparations are being made to adopt any route to get their demands accepted.
On the issue of religious conversions, the report commented that there is continuous information about the planned conversion of Hindus in different parts of Bharat. This challenge has a long history, but, of late, different, newer ways of converting new groups are being adopted. It is true that the social and religious leadership and institutions of Hindu society have woken up to some extent and become active to check this trend. A coordinated effort to defeat all these menaces becomes need of the hour, indeed.
