RSS condemns violence against Hindus, Buddhists in Bangladesh

Guwahati: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) expresses serious concern over the incidents of violence against Hindus, Buddhists and other minority communities in Bangladesh during the movement for regime change in the last few days. RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, in a statement issued on 9 August 2024 from New Delhi, commented that cruelty like targeted killings, looting, arson and heinous crimes against women belonging to Hindu and other religious minorities and attacks on Hindu temples in the neighbouring country are intolerable.
Condemning the incidents, Hosabale expected that the interim government in Dhaka (led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus) would take strict action to immediately stop such incidents. Also, the regime must make proper arrangements to protect the lives, property, and honour of the victims, added the RSS general secretary.
“We request the world community and all political parties in Bharat to stand in solidarity with the persecuted communities like Hindu, Buddhist, etc., in this critical time,” said Hosabale, adding that as a friendly neighbour, the central government of Bharat is trying to play an able role in this situation in Bangladesh. Finally, Hosabale urged New Delhi to make every effort to ensure the safety of Hindus, Buddhists, etc. in Bangladesh.
