Guwahati: Assam government, which has promised to create one lakh jobs at the earliest, will recruit about 12,000 individuals
within September. It will be in addition to 30,000 already recruited in various government departments during the month of May taking the total
recruitments to 42,000.
State chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, after a high-level meeting with senior officials on Thursday, said that the 12,000 recruitments will be completed on 22
September. These job-aspirants, who were selected for appointments through various examinations, would be
formally inducted into government service in different categories. In presence of State chief secretary Paban Kumar Borthakur, special
State police chief GP Singh, CM’s principal secretary Samir Kumar Sinha and other senior officials, Sarma stated that with the addition
of these employees in the service, the government is expected to run the day-to-day governance activities in a more seamless manner.
