Assam government committed to preserve Karbi language & literature 

Guwahati:Lovefor mother tongue leads the people to live with dignity by enriching andstrengthening their identity. Karbi Lammet Amei gave a platform to the writersand litterateurs of the community to practice their language and literature,said Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, while attending 30th conference of Karbi literaryforum at Donkamukam in West Karbi Anglong district on Thursday. He also added that veryrich in culture and folklore, the Karbi community is an invaluable asset for Assam.Their language and culture have enriched the diversity of the State, as thegovernment is committed to the development of Karbi language and literature, commentedSarma adding that  the people belongingto the Karbi community should be relentless in practicing their language andculture, so that they can march towards prosperity.  Appreciating KarbiLammet Amei for tirelessly working for the development of Karbi language, literatureand culture, Sarma stated that after taking inspirations from litterateurs likeBong Long Terang, Kehai Bey, Longkam Teron, Rong Bong Terang, Samsing Hanse, DhansingEngti, etc several young writers from the community have come out to serve theethnic language and literature. He further urged the forum  to continue its unwavering efforts to promotethe Karbi language and literature.Presided over by KarbiLammet Amei president Sukursing Rongpi, the session was also graced by Assam legislativeassembly’s deputy speaker  Nomal Momin, BJPAssam unit’s president Bhabesh Kalita, Karbi Anglong autonomous council chief TuliramRonghang, legislators Rupsing Teron, Bidyasing Englang and Dorsing Rohang with manyothers.
