DO’S AND DON’T FOR NOVEL CORONA VIRUS-19 (COVID-19)
Corona virus (Covid-19) was first identified in Wuhan province of China and till now it has affected 80 countries.
Signs and symptoms of CORONA VIRUS:
Signs and symptoms are Coughing, Fever, Pneumonia, Shortness in breath, Vomiting (in some cases), Diarrhea (in some cases). And in some advance cases, the patient can have serious complications leading to death such as severe Pneumonia or Renal (kidney failure).
What to do ?
First of all we should not panic, secondly we should avoid close contact with people who are sick, thirdly avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands, fourth if observed the symptoms we should visit physician and lastly washing our hands with soap and water.
STEPS TAKEN BY GOVERNMENT:
People travelling mainly from 12 countries-China, HongKong, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Nepal, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Malaysia and Singapore should immediately do their medical check up at the screening medical camp available at the Airports. The screening facility is available at all 6 airports of Assam.
STEPS TO WASH AND CLEAN HANDS:
1. Palm to palm
2. Right palm over back of left hand.
Left palm over back of right hand.
3. Palm to palm fingers interfaced
4. Backs of fingers to opposing palms with fingers interfaced.
5. Rotational rubbing of right thumb clasped over left palm and left palm over right palm.
6. Rotational rubbing backwards and forwards with clasped fingrs of right hand in palm of left and vice versa
Hands must washed for atleast 15 to 20 seconds, rinse and dry hands thoroughly and when applying gel, continue technique until hands are dry.
You NEED NOT NEED TO WEAR a mask until and unless you have symptoms like cough, fever or difficulty in breathing or caring for a COVID-19 suspect/confirmed patient or a health worker attending to patients with respiratory symptoms.
As per advisory issued by government we should unfold the pleats of the mask, and make sure that they are facing down.
The mask should cover nose, mouth and chin completely and ensure that there are no gaps on any side.Change the mask as soon as it is wet and after every six hours and hold it only by the strings and avoid touching while wearing.
Avoid touching the exterior as it may be contaminated or leave the mask hanging from neck.
Avoid using disposed mask.
